Forgive us Lord for
contracepting as a nation.
Forgive us for saying
no to your life and love.
Forgive us for saying
that what we want has more value than sacrifice for others.
Forgive us, for the
more we contracept, the more we say no,
The more we shut
others out
The more selfish we
become
The more we see
people as a commodity
The more we devalue
life
The more we turn in
toward ourselves
The more isolated we
become
The more angry we
become
The more we strike
out at those around us
The more violent we
become
In a cry that begs to
ask the question
Do I matter?
Forgive us Lord, for
in contracepting, we have not only said no to Your life giving love and
children
We have contracepted
You right out of our lives
our souls
our nation.
